In the previous year, our M&A team, lead by Kai Graf v. der Recke, was involved in cross-border M&A transactions focusing on real estate with a total value of more than EUR 700 million. Led by major Dutch and US law firms, we helped an overseas private equity investor in the divestment of a majority stake in a dutch listed company holding a logistics real estate portfolio with properties in the Netherlands and in Germany. Alongside with several other law firms from The Law Firm Network, we assisted a UK private equity real estate fund company in its acquisition of a major hostel chain with 12 objects in 14 cities globally, including 3 objects in Germany.

H&M's team consisted of Kai Graf v. der Recke, Dr. Jörg Richardi, Dr. Alexander Hübner, Dr. Tobias Eisenmann, Dr. Christian Aufdermauer and Markus Bettecken. Both transactions were enabled by our close cooperation with fellow lawyers from The Law Firm Network, which is a strong non-exclusive association of independent law firms from about 50 countries and whose principal lawyers are connected by close personal and professional relationships. H&M has been a member of the Network for more than 25 years an our partner Kai Graf v. der Recke was recently appointed its vice-chairman.
