Duty? Opportunity! Sustainability strategies for municipal utilities
03.04.24
The introduction of sustainability reporting obligations is currently on the agenda. The regulatory program of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) comes into force in Germany on 6 July 2024. For the first time, large municipal utilities (GmbH/AG) will also be obliged to include a sustainability report in their management report.
What could be more obvious than combining the necessary with the useful and reporting on sustainable procurement? The state of Lower Saxony is setting a good example by recommending sustainable procurement to local authorities in an administrative regulation.
Particularly pleasing: Haver & Mailänder Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB and its cooperation partner SBR-net Consulting AG are combining their expert knowledge to make municipalities safer, more resilient and more sustainable. Together, we offer practice-oriented advice on the individual circumstances, which sets out in detail and step-by-step which measures should be taken.
INTERNSHIP AT HAVER & MAILÄNDER - Before Easter, we said goodbye to our intern Lorenz Fischer, who spent the last few weeks getting to know our Dispute Resolution department.
Here is his summary: "I particularly enjoyed an exciting post-M&A arbitration and a hearing before the Chamber of Commerce in Nuremberg. Another highlight was the tour of the historic Hall 600, where the Nuremberg Trials took place. At the Career Breakfast at the law firm, as well as at the weekly lunch at the tennis club, we were able to have a very nice exchange with lawyers and trainees. I was entrusted with challenging, tailor-made tasks, learned a lot and had a lot of fun in the process. I am delighted that I was able to gain these exciting insights and experiences at Haver & Mailänder."
HAVER & MAILÄNDER wishes her all the best and every success in her upcoming exam preparation!
